Two of South Korea’s favorite acts team up for tvN’s upcoming original fantasy romance series, “See You in My 19th Life.”
Shin Hye-sun and Ahn Bo-Hyun will bring to life the series based on the supernatural fantasy webtoon series of the same name by Lee Hey. The story revolves around Ban Ji-eun, played by Shin, who has the supernatural ability to remember her past lives.
Her previous life was cut short by a tragic accident, and she sets out to reconnect with the people from her past life in her current one. Ahn will play the character of Moon Seo-ha, the heir of a mega-rich family who suffers from trauma incurred after a car accident.
The series is helmed by Lee Na-Jeong, the mastermind behind the TV series “Fight for My Way” (2017), “Love Alarm” (2019), and “Mine” (2021). In their press conference, Lee Na-Jeong expressed that their first goal was to keep everything from the original webtoon but also slightly add new layers to the story. She tried to expand stories of Ji-Eun’s past lives and tell Seo-ha’s backstory from his romantic relationship with Ji-Eum.
Shin Hye-sun’s popularity skyrocketed after the success of tvN’s Mr. Queen. Ahn also stars in several hit series, including “Itaewon Class” (2020) and “Yumi’s Cells” (2021).
