BTS member Jin confirmed on WeVerse Sunday, November 13 that he is expected to begin his mandatory service in the military unit located near the border between South Korea and North Korea in the coming month.
The 29-year-old member of the K-Pop superband revealed the information when a fan asked him on the fan community platform if he is thrilled about his upcoming birthday.
“No… I’ve been told to go to the front line,” the singer stated.
It could mean that he already received a notice to report for duty, requiring him to be present in a boot camp located at a front-line area before his birthday on December 4.
Meanwhile, BTS’s agency Big Hit Music opted not to divulge more information about the exact details of his military enlistment.
Jin first declared his plans to comply with the mandatory military service after BTS’s highly successful one-day concert in Busan on October 15.
He proceeded to file a request to revoke the delay of his conscription after his trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he performed his solo debut single “The Astronaut” as a guest at the concert of British rock band Coldplay.
The fans of BTS are waiting for more information about the artist’s military enlistment.
