Actors Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyun will join Jang Dong Gun, Kim Ok Bin, and other cast members for the highly anticipated second season of “Arthdal Chronicles.”
The plot of season 2 of the epic fantasy drama will pick up one decade after the events of the first season, where Ta-gon (Jang Dong Gun) became the most powerful person in the Kingdom of Arthdal, while Eun Seom (portrayed by Song Joong Ki in season 1) became the leader of the Ago Union.
In the upcoming season, viewers of the show can expect a major battle between Ta-gon’s kingdom and Eun Seom’s Ago tribe.
Lee Joon Gi will take over the role left by Song Joong Ki. He will play the adult version of Eun Seom. Meanwhile, actress Shin Se Kyung will step up to portray the adult version of Tan-ya, previously played by Kim Ji Won.
On the other hand. Jang Dong Gun will reprise his role as the highly-ambitious Ta-gon, while Kim Ok Bin will return as Tae Al-ha.
A representative from Studio Dragon released a statement about “Arthdail Chronicles” season 2.
According to the representative, “Arthdal Chronicles’ is a work of great significance that is daring in creating a world and mode of storytelling that no one has tried in the content industry.”
The representative also added their plans to meet fans’ expectations after the first season. “We will repay all of the viewers who have been eagerly awaiting Season 2 by pulling together our greatest production power and the abilities of the best actors.”
“Arthdal Chronicles” season 2 is expected to premiere in 2023.
