The much-awaited drama debut of singer-songwriter BIBI will take a backseat after letting go of her role in “Sweet Home 2,” a representative from Netflix confirmed on Tuesday, September 20.
Reports mentioned that the Soundcloud artist will no longer join the cast of the apocalyptic horror drama’s second season.
To clarify the reports, a Netflix rep confirmed that BIBI dropped out of the cast lineup.
“BIBI was confirmed to star in ‘Sweet Home 2’ and was preparing [for her role], but she canceled her appearance due to timing issues including the filming schedule,” the rep stated.
They also shared that another actress stepped in to fill the role and started filming for the scenes.
“Sweet Home” is based on the webtoon of the same title. It tells the story of a high school student who moved alone into a new apartment. But after moving, monsters begin to invade and bring chaos to humanity, especially the people living in the building.
The first season featured a stellar lineup of actors, including Song Kang, Lee Jin Wook, Lee Si Young, Parl Gyu Young, and Go Min Si. Aside from these actors, the cast of season 2 will include Oh Jung Se, Yoo Oh Sung, Kim Moo Yeol, and Jung Jin Young.
Details about “Sweet Home 2” premiere are expected to be announced in the coming days.
