The KPop quarter made history in 2020 when it became the first girl group from South Korea to bag the highly-coveted Moon Person award under the Song of Summer category for the song “How You Like That.” They are also in the running for their second VMA recognition under the Best Metaverse Performance for the group’s BLACKPINK the Virtual (PUBG) performance.
Member Lisa is also nominated for her solo project “LALISA” under the Best KPop category.
Aside from BLACKPINK, the glitzy event will also feature other popular artists like Panic! At The Disco, Marshmello x Khalid, Anitta, J Balvin, Lizzo, Måneskin, and Jack Harlow.
The 2022 MTV VMAs will air on August 28, 8 p.m. (August 29, 9 a.m. KST). Fans can help the girl group bag the awards by voting on vote.mtv.com until Friday, August 19.
