BlockBerry Creative receives the whole community’s ire after it’s been confirmed they did submit a petition “asking” to suspend former LOONA member Chuu’s entertainment activities.
Today, the Korea Entertainment Management Association revealed BlockBerry Creative’s course of action, submitting a petition on December 2022. In their request, Chuu’s former agency reportedly claimed Chuu signing a new contract with BY4M STUDIO in 2021 was “tampering” and a violation of their management contract. Tampering is the act of making pre-contact before the expiration of the contract’s period.
The Reward and Punishment Committee of the Korea Entertainment Management Association responded to the petition by requesting Chuu and her legal representative’s attendance. It’s been reported that they’ve expressed their intent to attend the committee’s summon. A representative explained that they would investigate the case fairly by requesting Chuu’s attendance to confirm the facts regarding her former agency’s claims.
An insider source from the agency confirmed that they also submitted a petition against the former members of LOONA that won the lawsuit, HeeJin, Kim Lip, JunSoul, and Choerry.
BlockBerry Creative doubled down on their claim of Chuu’s removal, citing “violent language and misuse of power” toward a staff member. Chuu has spoken out and denied the agency’s claims.
