South Korean septet BTS ended Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event with a somber music video. The music video promotes the recycling of ocean-bound plastics as the event emphasizes the new Samsung Galaxy S22 Series smartphone’s eco-conscious packaging.
Samsung Newsroom reported that the company addresses ocean plastic pollution step by step. In their current smartphone release, the company repurposed ocean-bound plastics, such as abandoned fishing nets, for their packaging. The company is also committed to its collective mission to address the climate crisis to positively impact the environment and the lives of Galaxy users.
In the BTS MV, the members weren’t their usual jolly selves. Instead, we see them in their activist state, the personas we see when they took on the role of global ambassadors for the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, wherein they raise awareness on air pollution and the future of clean energy. This time, as Samsung Global Ambassadors, they tackle ocean pollution.
The members have a message in a meaningful backdrop wherein a screen depicting marine life is inside an abandoned plastic warehouse, emphasizing discarded fishing nets.
The members urge viewers to work together for a better future. This message is not new to many ARMYs as they’ve been active in environmentalism, philanthropic and humanitarian missions wherein they actively ask for the participation of people in their campaigns.
The MV is on Samsung’s channel, where they also had the top comment that says, “It’s time for change,” and links to the article about their current initiative.
BTS has been active and stable in their involvement in fighting climate change. It is exciting to see how ARMYs respond to this current campaign collaboration.
