After issues arise due to the chosen concert venue, Big Hit Music released a statement to announce that the BTS’s World Expo 2030 Busan Korea Concert will be transferred to Busan Asiad Main Stadium instead of Ilgwang Special Stage.
In the statement, the agency shared that after BTS was appointed Busan’s honorary ambassadors for the city’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo in July, they immediately started to plan a major festival-like concert for their global fans.
The septet, the agency, and the city government decided to make the concert free so the ARMYs and other people around the world will enjoy the festival-themed event. They initially opted to hold the concert at an old factory in Ilgwang to accommodate as many as 100,000 attendees. But upon consultation with the local government, the Korea Railroad Corporation, and the local police and fire department, they decided to organize the event in a different venue.
Earlier, BTS fans and residents expressed their concerns about the original concert venue. Some were worried about the attendees’ transportation, accommodation, food sources, and overall safety.
“Our decision to change the location of the concert was made to ensure that the focus remains on the performance’s main purpose, which is to promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo,” the agency stated.
