The devastating, record-breaking flood that killed at least thirteen people and injured countless others left Seoul in a catastrophe.

BTS member J-Hope joins many of South Korea’s loved entertainers who donated to help Seoul recover. The torrential rain damaged subway stations, businesses, automobiles, and Parasite-style basement homes, making the government ban the use of the basement houses and move those who live in them to other locations.

J-Hope donated an amount of 100 million KRW, or $76,770 in US Currency, to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association. The amount will be used to help victims impacted by the heavy rains in the central regions of the Korean Peninsula. The association announced that J-Hope’s donation puts him on the Hope Bridge Honors Club list, which appoints members whose accumulated donations surpass 100 million KRW.

Last year, the ARMYs sunshine donated 100 KRW to Green Umbrella’s Children Foundation, which was used for medical expenses and provide heating for children in low-income families and care facilities.
