K-Pop powerhouse BTS member Jimin continues his streak as his track “Set Me Free Pt. 2,” from his solo debut album FACE, lands on the U.S. Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart today.
On Monday, Billboard stated that “Set Me Free Pt. 2” debuted on the 30th spot of the Hot 100 chart, making Jimin the first BTS member to chart in the top 40 with a solo song and not a collaborative project.
“Set Me Free Pt. 2” is a pre-released track from his first official individual album. FACE’s lead track, “Like Crazy,” topped the world’s largest music streaming service, Spotify’s Global Top 50, with a whopping 6.01 million streams.
In Japan, “FACE” topped the Oricon weekly albums ranking as it sold 225,000 copies. BigHit Music quoted Oricon as the six-track album set the record for the biggest first-week sales by a soloist in Japan this year. According to Hanteo Chart, a local tracker of KPop album sales, Jimin became the first K-pop soloist to sell over 1 million copies on the day of its release.
FACE also topped the iTunes’ top albums chart in 63 regions worldwide, with his main single “Like Crazy” debuting at #1 on iTunes’ top songs chart in 111 regions.
