Jin’s first solo OST ‘Yours,’ soundtrack to the series Jirisan, broke through one of the world’s largest music search platforms, Shazam. The platform reported that Jin’s hit solo reached 8.1 million Shazams. With this milestone, Jin’s ‘Yours’ became the only, first, and most-shazam-ed record both in KPop history and Korean OST.
The progress of ‘Yours’ started on May 3, when it surpassed 1 million Shazams. In a short span of three months, he made an overwhelming record of 8.1 million Shazams. Jin’s OST also surpassed his band BTS’ track Dynamite which carried the former record with 7.01 million Shazams.
Because of this, Jin became the first and only KPop artist not only to have the most Shazams as a solo but also as a group among all KPop tracks. Jin’s success proved to be strong in terms of long-term box office power, making him “Global Shazam King Jin.”
Jin’s OST remains strong, staying in the 24th spot in the Film, TV& Stage category, Shazam’s Global Top 200 Chart, and KPop Category with his other tracks Awake, Epiphany, and Moon.
For the tenth week on the Shazam Global Week’s Top 10 Artist Chart, Jin holds the 2nd spot. Shazam stated that Jin achieved such amazing results, breaking old records and making new ones, showing his amazing potential. They expect that his future solo activities will show growth.
