BTS Suga Begins Mandatory Military Service, Pens Heartwarming Message for ARMY on Weverse

The Tea is Hot! The News is Cool. And the DRAMA is Oh So Juicy!!!

Today, Suga of BTS begins his mandatory military service as a social service agent. Suga, aged 30, is the third member of the septet to enlist, following Jin in December 2022 and J-Hope in April 2023.

However, unlike Jin and J-Hope, Suga was deemed unfit for regular combat duty. Hence, he will serve as a social service agent. While non-disabled men must serve in the military, those with health issues are assigned to alternative services, including working in an office for a municipal government.

BTS’ label, BigHit Music, did not disclose the reasons behind the decision on Suga to the public. This is believed to be related to his torn labrum, which was repaired through surgery in 2020.

Suga took to Weverse to assure his fans that he’d be alright. He wrote,

“Good morning. This is Suga.

I’m here to say hello! Thanks to you guys, we’ve come all the way here. And now it’s time. I will come back after I finish my service sincerely.

Be careful during the chilly autumn change of seasons.

Take care, and see you all in 2025!

ARMY!!!! I’m always grateful and loving.”

Mindful of the public nature of Suga’s service, his label urged ARMy not to frequent Suga’s place of duty.
