ARMYs have something to look forward to from BTS member V after reports revealed his surprise participation in the upcoming “Youn’s Kitchen” spinoff, tentatively titled “Seo Jin’s.”
According to reports from media outlets, V recently joined the filming of the upcoming variety show in a top-secret location in Mexico, together with regular cast members Lee Seo Jin, Jung Yu Mi, and the idol’s close friends Park Seo Joon and Choi Woo Shik.
Since V is close friends with Park Seo Joon and Choi Woo Shik, viewers can expect to see the same friendly chemistry between them as shown in their previous travel variety show “In the SOOP: Friendcation.”
In response to the reports, a representative from tvN released a statement to clarify V’s cameo in the show.
“Regarding the possibility of BTS member V appearing on tvN’s new variety show ‘Seo Jin’s,’ we are in the process of checking whether it’s true with the producers who are currently filming on location abroad. Due to the difference in time zones, it’s taking some time for us to check the facts, so we ask for your understanding,” the representative said.
“Seo Jin’s” follows the format of the original show “Youn’s Kitchen,” where popular Korean celebrities run a restaurant by themselves and serve traditional Korean food.
The show originally included veteran actress Youn Yuh Jung, who also joined the other spin-off called “Youn’s Stay.” However, the Oscar Award-winning actress cannot appear on the new show due to conflicts in her schedule.
In the upcoming spin-off, Lee Seo Jin will step up to fill in the role of restaurant owner left by Youn Yuh Jung. But this time, the restaurant will serve Korean street foods for a lighter menu.
Filming for “Seo Jin’s” is currently underway, with plans for broadcast in the early part of 2023.
