Fans of GOT7 member Jinyoung and actress Noh Jung Ui may expect to see them work together in a new drama, but reps of both celebrities shed more light on the story.
News reports revealed Thursday that the idol-turned actor and actress will play the role of the lead characters in an upcoming drama with the literal title “The Witch.” But in response to the report, Jinyoung’s representative from his agency BH Entertainment and a spokesperson from Namoo Actors, the agency of Nah Jung Ui, both claimed that the stars received an offer to appear in the drama.
Both actors are reportedly positively reviewing the offer.
“The Witch” is a webtoon-based drama adapted from the works written by Kang Full. It focuses on the story of a man who fell in love with a woman referred to as the “witch.” Director Kim Tae Kyun will reportedly helm the drama.
Other reports claimed that Jinyoung was tapped to play the role of Lee Dong Jin. After the character graduates from college with a degree in statistics, he was hired by Shine Solution to become the best data miner. He met a girl named Park Mi Jung in school. She was haunted by plenty of rumors but he never believed any of those. She suddenly left school, so he decided to study statistics so he can prove that she is not a witch.
Noh Jung Ui is rumored to give life to Park Mi Jung. She is described as a woman who values her freedom. She always wears pretty clothes and leaves her rooftop home at exactly 3:30 a.m. She has had good English skills since she was small, and she used to work as a translator. Because of her odd and mysterious aura, she got branded as a witch.
One day, both Lee Dong Jin and Park Mi Jung accidentally reunited at the subway. It gave Lee Dong Jin the opportunity to be with her again and give up his entire life for him.
The producers of “The Witch” is reportedly discussing the possible broadcast of the drama on an OTT platform.
