Fan Bingbing, one of the most popular and highest-paid Chinese actors of all time, will finally grace Korean drama screens for the first time in JTBC’s upcoming series “Insider.”
Reps from the local cable channel revealed that the Chinese star’s segments in the upcoming drama were already filmed and completed. But details about her participation remained under wraps.
“Though the actor has joined ‘Insider,’ detailed information about Fan Bingbing’s role is yet to be revealed, as it is closely related with the plot and storyline of the series,” the JTBC rep explained in an interview.
While this is Fan’s first Korean drama, it will not be her first time working with a Korean production crew. She also appeared in the 2011 Korean war film “My Way.”
“Insider” is an action-packed thriller about the life of a judiciary trainee who dealt with struggles while doing an undercover investigation. It will star actor Kang Ha-neul as the lead character Kim Yo-han, which actress Lee Yoo-young will portray the role of businesswoman Oh Soo-Yeon.
JTBC is expected to release “Insider” during the first half of 2022.
