South Korean world-renowned director Na Hong-Jin returns with a dystopian film starring some of the biggest stars in Hollywood.

Na, known for his highly-acclaimed works “The Chaser” (2008), the Cannes-selected “The Yellow Sea,” and the outstanding film “The Wailing” (2016), which won him the award for Best Director at the 37th Blue Dragon Film Awards is bringing the film “Hope” into the big screen.

“Hope” is the story of residents living in a small port town facing mysterious attacks on their village. After witnessing a strange being standing on the village’s outskirts, residents are thrown into a desperate struggle to protect themselves from impending destruction.

In a press release reported by Korea JoongAng Daily, Na stated, “We often see good intentions clashing from different perspectives, ultimately leading to catastrophe. Our film tries to capture this phenomenon, and we plan to show a work that has never been seen before.”

Hope will star Irish-German actor Michael Fassbender, famous for his role in the X-Men franchise Magneto, Swedish actress Alicia Vikander, who achieved global recognition for her role in “The Danish Girl,” (2015), and world-renowned series Squid Game stars Hwang Jung-Min; Zo In-Sung, and Hoyeon.
