Multi-awarded and revered director Park Chan-wook is nominated in two categories at the upcoming 76th British Academy Film Awards (Baftas).
The talented director, screenwriter, and producer is nominated for the Best Director award. His latest and captivating film, Decision to Leave, is nominated for Best Film Not in the English language.
Park will go against Edward Berger and his work, “All Quiet on the Western Front,” Martin McDonagh for “The Banshees of Inisherin,” Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert for “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” Todd Field for “Tar” and Gina Prince-Bythewood for “The Woman King.”
His film Decision to Leave competes with Germany’s “All Quiet on the Western Front,” Argentina’s “Argentina, 1985,” Germany’s “Corsage,” and Ireland’s “The Quiet Girl.”
After leaving a lasting impression in its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival last year, the BBC selected “Decision to Leave” as one of the “20 Best Movies of 2022.” The British media outlet The Guardian gave the film the highest score of five stars.
The 76th BAFTAs will be held on February 20 at 4 am KST.
