Disney Plus is taking risks in catching up on Netflix with international content. This time, they’re focusing on original Korean content.
In the rerun report on What’s New on Disney, actor Seo Kang-Jun stated that the production strategy focused on working with local storytellers in the region. That leveraged their brand power, scale, and dedication to creative excellence. He stated this at last year’s APAC showcase, wherein Disney’s Head of Content and Development explained the availability of Asia-Pacific originals on Disney Plus and in other countries.
The actor stated that they look forward to collaborating with award-winning and creative talents in the Asia Pacific to share authentic stories that reflect the unique and social dynamics from a certain region to global audiences.
