On December 19, 2016, the well-loved series Hwarang premiered and captured many viewers’ hearts. The show centered on an elite group of young men, Hwarang, who discover passion and develop friendships in the turmoil of the Silla Kingdom. Stars BTS’ V, Park Seo Joon, and Park Hyung Sik developed friendships offscreen. Park Seo Joon introduced the two to his other close friends, Peakboy and Choi Woo Shik.
Their friendship spurred the well-known and loved Wooga Squad. Many have seen members’ social media interactions and rare snippets of the group spending time together.
Now, the friends get to catch up as they unite to star in the sought-after reality show “In the SOOP.” Naver reports that the Wooga Squad will star in the show entitled “In the SOOP: Friendship Trip.”
“In the SOOP” is HYBE’s entertainment reality program for their artists’ respite away from the stage and enjoy leisure and healing in the forest. Two of HYBE’s biggest bands, BTS and Seventeen, starred in different versions; “In the SOOP: BTS, Season 1 and 2, and “In the SOOP: Seventeen.”
“In the SOOP: Friendship Trip” will show viewers the Wooga Squad up close as they embark on a four-day trip. The four-episode program will premiere in July via JTBC. The show will also be available on a global OTT platform.
