Chuu, real name Kim Jiwoo and former member of LOONA, recently released a statement in response to the news that her old agency, BlockBerry Creative, filed a petition to prevent her from working in the entertainment industry.
She took the issue through Instagram stories. Translated, she posted, “Hi, this is Chuu. It is very regrettable and tiring to keep releasing statements in such ways. Recent slanderous news reports based on false information have crossed the line.”
Chuu clarified that she was unaware of the company BY4M Studio in December 2021, as her former label claims that she signed a contract with the studio and tampered with her exclusive contract to switch agencies. She continued, “It is hard to bear for me to see myself and our members getting caught in such lies, and I will release a statement shortly in respond to the allegations.”
Following LOONA’s exit, Orbits not only decided to boycott official LOONA merchandise and content, but they also created a union, LOONA Union, to support all the members currently in legal battles and dispute with their former label.
LOONA Union created a petition to provide direct assistance in the ongoing lawsuit, from the submission of termination for their exclusive contracts and now that BlockBerry Creative is actively sabotaging former and current members’ careers.
The LOONA Union unionized after receiving professional advice from lawyers following the case and suggested that a petition could significantly aid the members currently in the lawsuit.
