Idol-turned-actor Ok Taecyeon will start to take the world by storm after signong with established US talent agency William Morris Endeavor (WME), his local agency 51K revealed Monday, February 27.
According to reports, WME handles the successful careers of some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including directors Quentin Tarantino and Ridley Scott, and actors Matthew McConaughey, Michael B. Jordan, and Tom Holland. They also handle the international career of renowned Korean director Bong Joon Ho and actress Bae Doona.
“We are happy that Taecyeon, who has been expanding his reach as an actor thorough various projects including ‘Vincenzo,’ ‘Hansan: Rising Dragon,’ ‘Blind,’ and more, signed a formal agent contract with WME, one of the representative agencies in the United States. Please continue to cheer on Taecyeon’s activities in the future,” 51K said in a statement regarding the actor’s career move.
Meanwhile, 2PM’s Taecyeon also expressed his excitement regarding the new direction of his career.
“I’m excited and happy to take on a new challenge. I talked a lot with the local agency. Although it will not be easy to take on a new challenge in an unfamiliar environment, I think it is a good opportunity to learn a lot,” the actor stated. “I will work hard to show another side of me as well as new charms of Ok Taecyeon on a broader stage.”
At the moment, Taecyeon is preparing to star in an upcoming KBS2 vampire drama called “My Heart is Beating” (literal title) with Won Ji An.
