LE SSERAFIM will become one member-less after Source Music and HYBE decided to terminate the exclusive contract of controversial member Kim Garam according to the statement released Wednesday, July 20.
Shortly after the girl group’s debut in May 2022, Kim Garam was hounded by school bullying allegations that took place in 2018 on online communities. The alleged victim reportedly attempted suicide and opted to drop out of school.
Because of the controversy, Kim Garam announced her temporary break from joining group promotions three weeks after the girl band’s debut.

An HYBE representative also provided an additional statement regarding Kim Garam’s termination. According to the rep, “Although the agency approached this issue and attempted to take action with utmost care and caution, we admit that there were some aspects to the agency’s approach which were inadequate, and so we would like to apologize.”
