Production company Annapurna Film announced that they’ve begun filming Korea’s first-ever high school cheerleading movie, “Victory.”
Korea JoongAng Daily reports that the upcoming film will star singer-actor Hyeri and actor Park Se-Wan.
The film is set in the late 90s in Geojae, South Gyeongsang. The movie revolves around three characters, Pilseon, Mina, and Sehyun. Hyeri, a student who gets into cheerleading by chance, forms the high school cheerleading team “Millenium Girl” with her best friend Mina, played by Park-Se-Wan. The duo will have clashes with Sehyun, played by actor Jo Aram and former member of Gugudan, a transfer student from Seoul.
Park Bum-Soo, famous for his works “Single in Seoul” and “Red Carpet,” helms the film. While production started on March 4, 2023, the release date is yet to be confirmed.
