“Dream,” starring IU and Park Seo-Joon, continues to perform well, reaching 1 million tickets sold only sixteen days after its release, announced by the movie’s distributor Plus M.
Helmed by renowned director Lee Byeong-Heon, “Dream” is a comedy film based on the real-life story of an amateur football team of homeless people entering the Homeless World Cup, a championship for homeless football teams worldwide.
“Dream” is the first Korean film to top the domestic box office in 50 days, dethroning foreign-made films such as “The First Slam Dunk” and “Suzume,” both Japanese animations.
Plus M’s announcement is based on the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network for ticket sales.
