KPop girl group IVE will debut in the US and start its global activities with the American label Columbia Records.
On Friday, Kakao Entertainment announced that the company’s North American subsidiary Kakao Entertainment America signed a partnership with Sony Music’s Columbia Records. Under this partnership, the American label will be responsible for IVE’s debut and global management. They are starting with the US promotion of IVE’s upcoming prerelease track “Kitch” and their first full-length album “I’ve IVE.”
Starship Entertainment, IVE’s agency, is a subsidiary of Kakao Entertainment. With its partnership with Columbia Records, Kakao aims to strengthen its global music distribution networks and increase its global competitiveness.
IVE and its members An Yu-jin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Won-young, Liz, and Leeseo, made a strong debut in December 2021 with their first single, “Eleven,” becoming monster rookies as they’ve sold over 3 million albums and took home 74 trophies in two years.
IVE will prerelease their single “Kitsch” on March 27 before releasing their first full-length album, “I’ve IVE,” on April 10, 2023.
