The long wait for Joo Woo’s next drama project is finally over after tvN announced his TV return in the upcoming comedy crime drama “Stealer: Seven Joseon Coins.”

The upcoming TV series will tell the story of the efforts of the unofficial cultural asset recovery team called Karma to run after a sly cultural asset thief called Skunk and combat those who can get away from the law.

Joo Won will play the role of a civil servant named Hwang Dae Myung from the Cultural Heritage Administration’s Special Investigation Division. He is known for his unusual concern about the number of his annual leave credits and penchant for napping during office hours.

However, Hwang Dae Myung’s life will turn upside down after being linked to the notorious thief Skunk. He must face the challenges of being part of the unofficial cultural asset recovery team to catch Skunk, which is different from his simple life as a regular civil servant.

When asked about why he agreed to be part of the project, Joo Won said, “It is a very meaningful story even though it is fictional. I was charmed by how the story unfolds in a comical way without getting too dark. I am personally really looking forward to how I will portray this character. We will always do our best and have fun while filming, so please show a lot of interest.”

The production team also explained why they choose the actor for the role. According to the team, “Trustworthy actor Joo Won has met the unique character Hwang Dae Myung. We hope viewers look forward to the synergy between the actor and the character within the uniquely suspenseful [story] surrounding cultural asset crime in Korea.”

Filming is scheduled to begin for “Stealer: Seven Joseon Coins” in hopes to premiere in 2023.
