After more than a decade, actor Jung Woo Sung will be back to star in a new drama if negotiations turn out well.

On February 9, reports revealed that the accomplished TV and movie actor will play the lead role in “Tell Me That You Love Me,” a remake of the famous Japanese drama “Aishiteiru to Itte Kure” released in 1995.

The upcoming drama focuses on the love story between a deaf man and a promising actress. Jung Woo Sung is expected to play the role of a deaf artist named Cha Jin Woo. He lost his sense of hearing at a young age due to a severe fever. He enjoyed art classes because it is the only time when he does not require an interpreter. His life revolved around painting and creating art.

The actor’s management agency Artist Company released a statement to address the report. “Jung Woo Sung is positively reviewing [the offer] to star in ‘Tell Me That You Love Me,’” the statement reads.

If the deal pushes through, it will be the actor’s comeback project after more than ten years. His last drama was the romantic TV series “Padam Padam” with Han Ji-min and Kim Bum.

He was temporarily seen in the drama “Delayed Justice” that ended its run in January 2021. He replaced lead actor Bae Seong-woo to play the role of Park Sam-soo midway through the season after the actor got involved in a DUI incident.
