More than 10 years after the premiere of “Padam Padam,” acclaimed actor Jung Woo Sung will finally return to the small screen by starring in a new drama with actress Shin Hyun Been, the STUDIO & NEW announced Thursday, September 22.

The studio confirmed that the actors will work on a romance drama with the literal title “Tell Me That You Love Me.”

Jung Woo Sung will play the role of Cha Jin Woo, a deaf person who is contented in his quiet world. He remains easygoing despite the cruel treatment of the world.

This is the first official TV project of the actor since 2012. However, he had a brief appearance in the drama “Delayed Justice” in 2020 when he filled in the role of Bae Sung Woo who resigned from the project due to his DUI controversy.

Meanwhile, Shin Hyun Been will portray the role of Jung Mo Eun, a woman who has a strong self-respect and works hard to reach her dreams.

The upcoming drama is based on an award-winning Japanese drama of the same title. The original drama aired on TBS in 1995 and received numerous recognitions, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, and Best Picture, at The Television Drama Academy Awards in Japan.

The actors will work with “Love in the Moonlight” and “The Sound of Magic” screenwriter Kim Min Jung and “Our Beloved Summer” director Kim Yoo Jin.

Filming for “Tell Me That You Love Me” will begin before the end of 2022, but the premiere schedule remains under wraps.
