On September 21, Kep1er’s label WAKEONE and Swing Entertainment announced that member Yeseo would not be present at the “2023 KPOP Nation x Korea Music Festival in Poland” on September 23.
According to their post on Kep1er’s fan cafe, Yeseo will take a hiatus due to her health suddenly worsening. It is inevitable for the idol to attend the festival in Poland. The group’s label didn’t explain Yeseo’s health status, only that she is currently resting.
WAKEONE confirmed that the remaining eight members would proceed with the event as scheduled without Yeseo.
WAKEONE also responded to the report of Kep1er discussing the possibility of extending their project group activities. According to SPOTV NEWS, WAKEONE recently met with key executives from the agencies of Kep1er members to discuss extending group activities. WAKEONE and Spring Entertainment expressed, “It is true that we preemptively held a meeting to establish a roadmap and strategy for the artists’ long-term activities as the Kep1er project has passed its halfway mark, and we made the same proposals to all agencies. However, although we did our best to reach agreements with all the agencies, it did not work out this time. As there is still some time left [for the project group’s] promotional period, we will continue to coordinate with each other.”
Kep1er is a nine-member girl group formed through MNet’s survival audition program “Girls Planet 999” and comprises Choi Yu Jin, Mashiro, Xiao Ting, Kim Chae Hyun, Kim Da Yeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, Seo Young Eun, and Kang Ye Seo.
