Two of South Korea’s highly awarded actresses join hands for the highly-anticipated Netflix political thriller Queenmaker.
Kim Hee-ae and Moon Sori will star in the undeniably heated story of a fixer changing course after a tragic accident, using her skills to transform a civil lawyer into the next mayor — and take down her former employer.
The series is helmed by Oh Jin-Suk and scriptwriter Moon Ji-Young.
In the twelve-episode series, Kim Hee-ae transforms into Hwang Do-Hee, a consultant skilled at shaping political candidates’ images. She is determined to make human rights lawyer Oh Seong-Sook, played by Moon Sori, the new mayor of Seoul.
Director Oh said in the Korea Times report, “Even those who are not interested in politics can enjoy watching how two actresses play their characters out of their comfort zone.”
Queenmaker will premiere on Netflix on April 14, 2023.
