Kim Tae Hee and Rain’s stalker was finally arrested and will be sent to trial.
The woman, said to be in her 40s, was arrested after pressing the star couple’s doorbell multiple times.
According to the news outlets, the 3rd Criminal Division of Seoul Western District Prosecutor’s Office announced that they’ve come to the decision to prosecute the woman. The woman is accused of violating the Stalking Punishment Act. An official from the prosecution stated, “The prosecution will continue to take a hardline stance on stalking crimes.”
The prosecution stated that the woman was repeatedly warned of violating the Misdemeanor Punishment Act. The stalker visited Rain and Kim Tae Hee’s residence on 14 occasions from March to October 2021, persistently ringing their doorbell.
Despite being apprehended, the woman returned to the couple’s residence on February 27, 2022, which led to her being arrested on the spot after receiving Rain’s report. In April, the woman escalated her actions by going to the beauty salon frequented by the victims to continue stalking them.
In April, the police decided not to pursue prosecution due to the difficulty in establishing a crime of stalking. They thought it was challenging to demonstrate this woman’s persistence and repetitive actions. Soon after, the prosecution requested a reinvestigation and for the case to be forwarded.
Finally, in September, the stalker was sent to prosecution without detention. Now, she’ll face the consequences of her actions. Fans of the celebrity couple are relieved and hope that the woman will be prosecuted fairly and that people like her will be reprimanded so artists can have some peace in their chaotic lives.
