Actress Lee Young Ae proved once again that she has a generous heart after making a generous donation to the victims of the January 20 fire in the shanties near Gangnam in Seoul.
According to the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities, the actress sent a ₩50 million (around $40,700) donation to the victims of the fire that took place in District 4 of Guryong Village in the outskirts of Gangnam.
In a statement, the actress shared, “My heart ached after hearing news about the residents of Guryong Village who have lost their homes and whose lives have become more difficult due to this sudden fire. I want to become of at least a bit of help to those who are suffering.”
The foundation also mentioned that the mother of two specifically requested to help the young victims of the massive fire. She also wanted to ensure that the donations will go directly to the affected Guryong Village residents to assist them in their recovery.
The Guryong Village fire reportedly destroyed at least 60 homes and displaced around 60 residents according to the Seoul Fire Department.
