K-pop idol and member of the boy band Monsta X Minhyuk announced his plans to enlist for mandatory military service in early April.
In a handwritten letter shared on the group’s official online fan cafe on Monday, March 14, Minhyuk declared his upcoming enlistment. ”I won’t be able to see you often for a while to do my military service starting on April 4,” he said.

He also promised to ensure his physical and mental health while serving in the military, and return after his duty as a better person.
“I love you so much, Monbebe. Let’s meet next year smiling. I’ll be back soon,” he added, addressing the group’s fandom.
Minhyuk made his debut with Monsta X in May 2015. He is the second member of the band to join the military, next to Shownu who is about to be discharged on April 21 after enlisting in July 2021.
