A brand new SBS drama written by renowned scriptwriter Kim Eun Hee will combine acclaimed actors Kim Tae Ri, Oh Jung Se, and Hong Kyung together on the small screen.
The new drama, with the working title “Demon,” will be an occult mystery thriller featuring a woman possessed by a vile spirit, and a man who has the ability to see the evil spirits that enter the human body. They will connive to investigate the mysterious deaths involving five divine objects.
Kim Tae Ri will portray the role of Goo San Young. She works part-time during the day, then studies for her ninth-grade civil service exams at night. After receiving a keepsake from her late father, she became involved in a series of mysterious deaths that take place around her, she discovers that she is changing gradually.
The production team behind the show described Kim Tae Ri’s role as a challenging character because it is a mixture of both good and evil. According to the team, the actress was their first choice for the role because “she has the kindest eyes but also exudes intense charisma from time to time.”
The team also mentioned that they believe Kim Tae Ri’s talents can add more spice to the project.
Meanwhile, Oh Jung Se will take on the role of folklore professor Yeom Hae Sang. He has supernatural eyes and ears that can see spirits. He encounters Goo San Young accidentally, and comes across the demon who killed his mother when he was a child.
The production team has high hopes for Oh Jung Se’s performance in this drama due to his “stable and detailed acting skills.”
On the other hand, Hong Kyung will portray the character of police officer Lee Hong Sae. His main goal is to get a promotion as fast as possible, but meets a lot of setbacks after meeting Goo San Young and Yeom Hae Sang.
“Hong Kyung is a hardworking actor who has a good understanding of the project and his character and who always studies and ponders deeply. He will surely make his presence known [with this project],” the production team explained.
Production for “Demon” will begin in the coming days. It will premiere sometime in 2023.
