HYBE’s multi-awarded rookie group NewJeans solidifies their title as monster rookies this week.
Their single Hype Boy, from their album New Jeans, made an astonishing achievement of reaching 5.899 million streams on Spotify. The single dethroned their Sunbaenim, BTS’ Butter, as the Most-Streamed Song on Spotify in South Korea. BTS’ mega-hit single accumulated 5.895 million streams before being surpassed by NewJeans.

NewJeans also joins the ranks of experienced and highly-respected groups from the 2nd generation, 2NE1 and BIGBANG, as the only idol groups in history, not only securing the Top 3 spots on streaming platform MelOn Weekly Chart but also charting four songs and dominating the Top 10.
Coincidence? All three groups took the #1, #2, #3, and #7 spots when they made the record-breaking achievement.
