NewJeans is set to make history as the first fourth-generation K-pop girl group to take this year’s main stage of the iconic Japanese rock music event Summer Sonic Festival in August.
The girl group is scheduled to bring their hip and trending performance to the festival’s Tokyo venue from 12:00 to 01:05 p.m. JST at the Marine Stage on August 19.
The Summer Sonic Festival is known as one of the most prominent rock music fest in Japan. It is usually held in the cities of Osaka and Tokyo simultaneously due to its vast scale.
This year, the festival made a record-breaking feat after selling all tickets for the Tokyo and Osaka venues in a short amount of time.
Previously, BLACKPINK also performed in front of thousands of music festival attendees during the 2019 Summer Sonic Festival.
NewJeans is also scheduled to perform at the Lollapalooza in Chicago on Thursday, August 3.
