Members of K-pop group OMEGA X will finally break their silence after a viral video circulated showing some of them on the receiving end of abuses under their agency CEO, the group’s legal representative revealed Monday, November 14.
The legal representative stated that the group is preparing to talk about their current status and future direction in a press conference scheduled at 2 p.m. on November 16. It will be held at the Seoul Bar Association building in Seoul’s Seocho area.
The group has been involved in a controversy after a fan revealed in a Twitter post that they saw the CEO of the idol’s agency SPIRE Entertainment shouting and hitting some of the members after their Los Angeles concert. The agency initially released a statement, claiming that they already fixed the misunderstandings.
However, a video was uploaded online showing what transpired during the said event. In the video, the CEO was seen shouting and cursing the members, even after one of them seemed to collapse due to stress.
When the issue refused to die down, the agency released another statement to apologize for the incident and announce that the CEO already resigned. But since the new CEO was allegedly the husband of the former head of the agency, some fans were still worried about the group’s future.
Prior to the press conference’s announcement, OMEGA X launched a new Instagram account that they personally run instead of their agency.
The fans are waiting to hear the fate of OMEGA X in the upcoming press event.
