American R’n’B singer Pharrell Williams confirmed in an exclusive “Musicians on Musicians” talk with BTS member PM on Tuesday, November 1, that fans should watch out for at least one collaboration between him and the sensational K-pop boy band.
The announcement came just before the exclusive interview shared by Rolling Stone was over. Pharrell mentioned the exciting news that he worked with BTS for one of the songs in his new album “Phriends.”
“Well, my project, it’s called… it’s [under] my name, and the title of the album is ‘Phfriends.’ It’s the volume one. You guys [BTS] are on there, obviously. And I’m actually talking about this way more than I’m supposed to, but it’s a song from my album that [BTS] sang and it’s amazing, and I’m super grateful,” the multi-awarded American singer-music producer stated.
RM added that he loved the song, and Pharrell agreed that he and everyone who heard it was impressed by its outcome.
Pharrell also dropped another surprise when offered help for RM’s upcoming solo album. It opened an opportunity for a second collaboration between the two artists.
“I’m just going to put this out there. You said you’re 90 percent done with your solo album. But if within that last 10 percent, if you need—you don’t need me, but I mean…” Pharrell said, then RM interrupted, I always needed you, for 15 years.”
Pharrell went on with his offer, saying, “OK, well, if you want to do something, we can actually do it.”
It seemed like the agreement was made when RM answered, “Please… I’m honored and grateful.”
