On Wednesday, The Seoul Seongdong Police Station said they’ve decided to drop the charges of alleged public indecency against Hwasa of the K-pop girl group Mamamoo.

The controversial performance in question was done at Sungkyunkwan University, wherein Hwasa licked her fingers and moved them around her groin in what was seen as a “suggestive” way. The performance occurred on May 12 while Hwasa performed the song “Don’t” with rapper Loco at the university festival in northern Seoul.

Hwasa, whose real name is Ahn Hye-jin, was embroiled in controversy due to the performance, which was a part of the TV program “Dancing Queens on the Road,” aired on cable channel tvN.

.

The civic group Student Parent’s Rights Protection Union filed a complaint with Seoul police, claiming Hwasa’s act was suggestive of “perverted sexual acts sufficient to arouse shame and disgust in the public.”

It ended today as The Seongdong Police Station decided not to refer the 28-year-old idol to the prosecution after questioning Hwasa about the details of the performance and reviewing staff testimonies.
