More than three years after the premiere of “The Fiery Priest” on SBS, the action-packed comedy drama may return for a second season, a network representative revealed Wednesday, December 7.
According to the SBS representative, “The production of ‘The Fiery Priest’ Season 2 is currently under discussion, but nothing has been confirmed yet.”
The 2019 drama, starring Kim Nam Gil, Kim Sung Kyun and Honey Lee, tells the story of a Catholic priest with a bad temper and a cowardly detective who decided to work together to solve a murder case.
“The Fiery Priest” also earned multiple recognition during the 2019 SBS Drama Awards, including the Daesang for Kim Nam Gil and Top Excellence Award for Actor and Actress in a Mid-length Drama for Kim Sung Kyun and Honey Lee, respectively.
If the drama will make a comeback, it will fulfill its promise to its fans during the finale, where it flashed the message “We will be back” before the end of the show.
