JTBC’S corporate revenge drama “Reborn Rich” hit an astounding 24.9% viewership rating with its latest episode aired Sunday, December 18, beating its previous record, Nielsen Ratings Korea revealed Monday, December 19.
The show’s latest feat made it the second-highest viewership rating for all JTBC dramas, just a little under 2020’s “The World of the Married” with a 28.4% viewership rating.
It also surpassed the achievement of “SKY Castle,” which used to occupy the second-highest rank in cable drama history.
The revenge drama starring Song Joong Ki debuted on November 18 with a 6.1% rating.
It continued its upward success until it breached the 21.13% rating with its 11th episode on December 11. It is also the first Korean drama to reach the 20% mark in 2022.
“Reborn Rich” is based on San Kyung’s web-based novel and webtoon of the title.
It tells the story of a loyal employee named Yoon Hyun Woo who worked for one of the biggest conglomerates in the country. He was murdered by the family he was working for, then reborn as Jin Do Jun, the youngest grandson of the chaebol family who killed him.
The final two episodes of “Reborn Rich” will air on December 24 and 25.
