Renowned Director Yeon Sang-ho’s New Sci-fi film ‘Jung_E’ Tops Global Netflix Chart

Yeon Sang-ho makes a successful return as his film Jung_E debuts at the top of Netflix’s Global chart. 

Jung_E made a remarkable debut on Netflix last Friday, as it narrates the story of a child who clones her mother’s brain, an elite soldier, to create a legendary robot mercenary. 

Starring Kang Soo-Yeon as the scientist Seo-hyun, who works on a brain cloning experiment, using her mother, Yun Jung-yu, played by Kim Hyun-Joo, to create the project Jung_E. In the 2100s, the project becomes crucial in winning the civil war. 

As always, director Yeon Sang-ho used AI robots for his latest project to make the audience ponder whether humanity truly belongs to humans. You’ll see his heart-rending, intricate way of storytelling, evident in his multi-awarded and revered works of zombies in Train to Busan and the supernatural monsters in Hellbound.

According to the ranking website Flix Patrol, the cyberpunk film currently tops Netflix’s global chart. It is the most-watched film in 31 countries, including the USA, Mexico, Vietnam, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and South Korea. 

The film is also highly revered as it is the posthumous work of Kang Soo-Yeon. It was her final work when she unexpectedly passed away on May 7, 2022. Domestic and local fans unite in giving this film its rightful praise.
