SM Entertainment artist and veteran KPop idol BoA received the public’s ire due to her reaction and decision to one of the dance battles on MNet’s Street Dance Fighter. In the recent male dance survival show broadcast, the idol’s actions made people question the panel’s integrity as idol singers judging professional dancers.

BoA criticized one of the dancers of team TRIX, saying that he was scary. She and another judge cast blank ballots, forcing a rematch. Many did not agree with Prime Kingz winning as many live viewers, and online commenters were fired up with TRIX’s performance. Many took to social media to express their outrage at the outcome. However, from valid, understandable warranted criticism, the reactions became attacks on her person, bringing it to her social media platforms.

The idol shared her thoughts through Instagram and wrote, “It’s not like the judges choose which teams will battle against each other. I wonder if [people] would be less [angry] if Bank Two Brothers had been eliminated instead […] It’s exhausting to think that it’s going to be like this every time.”

SM Entertainment released their announcement through BoA’s Twitter official.

“Hello. This is SM Entertainment.

Currently, in relation to BoA, our artist, malicious posts and comments, defamation and character insults, etc., are being posted and distributed indiscriminately on BoA’s personal SNS account, as well as various online communities, SNS, and portal sites.

This is clearly illegal and subject to strong legal action, and we are preparing to file a lawsuit against illegal acts that are taking place online in order to protect the artist’s personality and honor without ignoring the current situation.

In principle, we would like to take civil and criminal legal measures and respond strictly. In addition, we are continuously monitoring and taking legal action to protect our artists, and we will continue to take strong legal action against such illegal acts. Thank you.”
