Trouble is reportedly brewing in entertainment agency Uzurocks where “Running Man” stars Song Ji Hyo and Ji Suk Jin belong, if the rumors about its financial troubles revealed Wednesday, April 5, turned out to be true.
According to industry sources, the agency let go of at least 10 employees because of its money problems. There are also reports that the other employees allegedly plan to leave due to their concern about the future of the agency.
The report also mentioned a source from the company that they were not paid for two months. The employee also mentioned that even celebrities also experience delayed payments.
According to the alleged employee, “I haven’t been paid in 2 months. For some employees, their insurance policies haven’t been paid either. I also didn’t receive the year-end settlement refund I should’ve received along with my salary. Celebrities aren’t being paid their appearance or endorsement fees either.”
The alleged company insider also mentioned that even the Uzurocks managers have not received their payments for over three months. “It’s a start-up, so it’s understandable to have temporary financial issues, but I’m shocked by their attitude. They act as if they’re entitled to it. They should’ve given us prior notice of missed payments and asked for understanding,” the employee also added.
Sources also claimed that if the employees will not receive their payments by April 10, they will go to the Department of Labor to file a formal complaint.
At the moment, Uzurocks CEO Park Joo Nam is living in the US and has yet to respond to the reports.
