Actor Song Joong Ki surprised his fans by announcing the birth of his first child with his wife Katy Louise Saunders through a post on his fan cafe on Wednesday, June 14.
The actor shared a lengthy handwritten post to Ki Aile, his loyal fans.
He began by giving an update about the filming of his upcoming movie “My Name is Loh Ki Wan,” which wrapped up in Hungary. He also shared that he felt honored to attend the Cannes Film Festival for his film “Hwaran” (Hopeless).
But his next update became more personal since he started to share the news about his growing family.
“I finally have my baby here in Rome, my wife’s hometown. He’s a healthy son. The baby and the mother…they are very healthy, very happy to meet, and I am taking care of my family with a grateful heart,” the actor shared.
He also revealed that he always dreamed about having a happy family.

The actor’s agency Highzium Studio confirmed the happy news, saying that Song Joong Ki’s son was born in Italy.
When asked about the exact date when Saunders gave birth to the child, the agency said, “We hope for your understanding that it is difficult to confirm the news of her birth, and we would like to thank the many people who send her congratulations.”
Song Joong Ki and Katy Louise Saunders got married on January 30, 2023.
