After reports about Song Joong Ki’s appearance in the movie version of Jo Hae Jin’s novel “I Met Ro Ki Wan” were debunked five years ago, new reports emerged Tuesday, October 25, that he might finally work on the project.
To answer the reports, a representative from Song Joong Ki’s agency High Zium Studio confirmed that they received an offer to star in the film, and the actor is “positively reviewing the offer.”
The upcoming movie adaptation of the novel features the story of a man named Ro Ki Wan who came from North Hamgyong Province in the northernmost part of North Korea. He defected and moved to Belgium, where a broadcasting writer tries to track him down. Song Joong Ki is reportedly offered the role of the North Korean defector.
This is not the first time that the actor’s name was mentioned for the project. In 2017, news reports claimed that Song Joong Ki will lead the cast for the movie “Ro Ki Wan.” However, his previous agency Blossom Entertainment denied the reports.
If the actor will sign up for the project, he will work with a newbie actor who was picked during an audition for new talents. The production will begin after the lead casting becomes final.
At the moment, Song Joong Ki is working on the upcoming film “Hwaran” and preparing for his new drama “Reborn Rich” which will debut on Viki on November 18.
