BTS had an eventful day at the American Music Awards 2021. From the red carpet alone, the septet grabbed the attention of many fans and artists alike, garnering chants as they walked to the center.
RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook were interviewed by several local media, including People.
After two years since their first appearance, they commented on their exhilaration to perform on AMA again and their new nomination. Leader RM, whose real name is Kim Namjoon, stated that this was full circle for them.
In their collaboration with the legendary rock band Coldplay, he said that the whole process was organic. He said the story of Chris expressing his plans to gift them a song and then later going to Seoul to record the song with them. V added that the collaboration was relaxed.
BTS made history as the first Korean act to win Artist of the Year. They won the Favorite Pop Duo or Group award, and their hit song Butter also secured Favorite Pop Song.
They are also the closing performance for the AMAs. On the red carpet, J-Hope said that their performance on Butter would be definitely one for the books.
