After veteran variety show PD Kim Tae Ho revealed his plans to part ways with MBC after 21 years in an Instagram post last September 2020, the network confirmed the separation on January 12.
Reports revealed that the “How Do You Play?” PD will no longer be part of the network after January 17. The confirmation was posted on the company bulletin board.
After the announcement, other reports claimed that the seasoned PD is on his way to creating a new variety show with singer and variety show host Lee Hyori. It will be his first project outside his former network.
In response to the news, Lee Hyori’s management agency Esteem Entertainment released a statement to clarify the rumors. “She was offered [to be part of a variety show] and is discussing it. Nothing has been decided yet,” the agency said.
If the project will push through, it will not be the first time that Kim Tae Ho and Lee Hyori will work together. The producing director met the former FIN.K.L. member after her appearance in an episode of “Infinite Challenge.” She also had a special participation in “How Do You Play?” as part of a project group called SSAK3 with Rain and Yoo Jae Suk.
