Controversial actress Kim Sae Ron will continue to be a part of the cast of Netflix’s upcoming drama “Bloodhounds” despite her recent DUI conviction, the streaming platform confirmed Tuesday, April 18.
The actress already shot her scenes in dark action drama prior to her drunk driving incident in May 2022. It was initially reported that she will no longer join the production of the eight-part series, but most of her scenes in the show were already filmed.
Since she was already done shooting her scenes, Netflix decided to keep some important sequences where the actress appeared to help the viewers understand the flow of the story.
“Kim Sae Ron will not be completely edited out. It is difficult to tell you about the details of her screen time because it’s currently under discussion,” a representative from the streaming platform said in a statement.
Netflix also mentioned that Kim Sae Ron will not be part of any official promotional events for the upcoming show.
The actress was recently fined ₩20.0 million (approximately $15,200) by the 4th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court for her DUI incident.
“Bloodhounds” is an action drama based on a webtoon of the same title. It tells the story of three individuals who entered the dangerous world of loan sharks in their pursuit of money.
The cast of the drama includes Woo Do Han as the promising boxer named Gun Woo, Park Sung Woong as the notorious and powerful loan shark Myung Gil, and Heo Jun Ho as CEO Choi.
“Bloodhounds” will premiere on Netflix in mid-June.
