K-pop boy group ZEROBASEONE cancelled and delayed their upcoming activities after members Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae tested positive for COVID-19, their agency WAKEONE Entertainment confirmed this week.
According to the agency, the members took a COVID-19 test after experiencing several flu-like symptoms like a mild sore throat. The result came back positive.
But while the rest of the nine-member group tested negative for the virus, the agency opted to cancel their shoot for their pre-recorded performance on “M Countdown History M” which was supposed to air on Thursday, August 3.
The boy band also postponed all their fan signing schedules from August 3 to August 5.
However, other events like the “M Countdown” appearance of members Sung Han Bin, Kim Ji Woong, and Zhang Hao as MCs pushed through, while the seven remaining members will still perform at the “2023 World Scout Jamboree K-Pop Super Live” on Sunday, August 6.

“Hello.
This is WAKEONE.
We are making an announcement regarding ZEROBASEONE members Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae’s COVID-19 diagnosis and future schedule.
On August 2, Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae experienced mild flu-like symptoms, so they underwent rapid antigen tests as a precautionary measure, and their test results came back positive for COVID-19.
Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae are not suffering from any particular symptoms aside from mild sore throats, and in accordance with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency’s guidelines to prevent the spread of disease, they will be moving to a location separate from the other members and self-isolating for five days starting from their test date.
Aside from Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae, the other ZEROBASEONE members are not currently experiencing any unusual symptoms. However, they underwent rapid antigen tests as a precautionary measure, and all of their test results came back negative.
We are informing you that there will be some unavoidable changes to [ZEROBASEONE’s] schedule due to the [two members’] COVID-19 diagnosis. As we made these changes because we consider our artists’ health and safety our top priority, we ask for the fans’ understanding.

The seven members aside from Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae will still be performing at the “2023 World Scout Jamboree K-Pop Super Live” scheduled to take place on August 6 (Sunday).
Additionally, the fan signing events and video call events that were scheduled to take place from August 3 (Thursday) to 5 (Saturday) have been postponed and will be held at a later date.
